London dispatch reports Mr. Stanley the American correspondent and traveler departed Suez yesterday bound for England. He carries letters from Dr. Livingstone of great importance detailing four years of exploration. Stanley is accompanied by Livingstone's son and their arrival in England is eagerly anticipated.
Paris reports orders for execution of several Communist prisoners by the Versailles Court-martial. Condemned men will be shot at the Camp of Saitory on Monday next. The Right in the Assembly has shifted to accept the government financial plan and Thiers proposals, enabling a new loan to proceed after earlier delays.
Reports from New York July 19 describe the sale of John Russell Young's Standard office furniture to satisfy a $500 local judgment, with $1,000 realized. Arrests followed a Broome Street burglary involving three men who gagged a resident and servant. Robert Selfridge, a 60 year old shoemaker of 208 North Twelfth street, was found dead in his bed yesterday morning with his throat cut. A razor and a bloody shoemaker’s knife were found in the room. it is believed he killed himself in his sleep and perhaps finished the act at his shop.
A misplaced switch on the Boston and Maine train caused a collision that smashed an engine and twelve freight cars at Walling. No injuries reported.
In Chicago a divorce case was halted after a juror fell ill with cramps and was sent home. The defense refused to proceed with eleven jurors, and the judge adjourned court to Monday. The French band booked open air concerts and Riverside picnic plans proceeded amid a street fight involving six blacksmiths on Adams Street leaving two men severely injured.

Members elect of the Liberal Republican Executive Committee will organize at Hopkins Hall at the southwest corner of Fourth and Elm. The meeting is set for tomorrow Saturday morning at 10 o clock. Prompt attendance is requested.

Noble county man William H Atherton swears under oath that on July 16 1872 in Cincinnati he was drunken arrested by two policemen at Third Street station house and robbed of 2038 dollars with three US discharges and a knife he claims only 38 dollars remained when jailed and 60 were returned later. Mayor Davis orders investigation by officers tomorrow at 9 in city building office.
A group led by John Buff George Leininger Gia Andres visited Barnum's show and then rented a skiff on Lincoln Park lake. A dispute over oars led Leininger to seize control but the boat capsized, soaking all aboard. They swam ashore and returned home.
In 1845 Nicholas Longworth gifted Mount Adams land to Thomas Key for an observatory by the Cincinnati Astronomical Society. With Mount Adams unsuitable, Kilgour donors offered four acres near Mount Lookout and $10,000. The city would receive the Longworth heirs deed and lease or sell the land to fund the Art School of the McMicken School of Design. The city accepted, acknowledging the society and its gift to education.
