Pinchot Attacks Water Trust at Irrigation Congress

Spokane Aug. 11 Gifford Pinchot chief forester denounced the water power trust as the congress debated irrigation policy He warned the body is becoming a tool for corporate interests while naming committee members and urging safeguards for conservation and safe lumbering amid comments by Long Allen Griffith and others. The session also discussed a proposed 5 000 000 000 government irrigation bond and expanding waterways on the Pacific coast.

Session at University of Oregon Comes to Close

The fifth annual University of Oregon summer school in Eugene closed with enrollment near 100, drawing students from across the state including teachers and principals. Plans for next summer anticipate about 200 students with new courses. dormitories to be opened and affordable board and room offered.
