Former Diller Girl Dies of Injuries in Car Crash

Mrs Mary Johnson Nicholson formerly of Diller died after a Saturday night accident near Daykie. She suffered a broken neck and chest injuries, was treated at Lincoln General hospital, regained consciousness briefly, but died Monday. Funeral services were held with many Diller friends attending.

Farewell Party for Rev and Mrs Robert Hall

Congregational church bids farewell to retiring minister Rev and Mrs Hall at a party on September 10. They depart for Atlanta for winter then Florida to settle. Program featured hymns, music by Ruth Ann Hiatt and others, gifts presented by Lou Snyder, and a final song God Be With You Till We Meet Again. Refreshments of ice cream coffee and water followed.

A family dinner was held at the Hullman home for Cpl Clarence L Hullman who had been home on furlough and was to leave Tuesday for the Army Air Field at Yuma Arizona. P F C Miller Home on 15 Day Furlough From Camp Robinson

P F C Richard C. Miller son of Mr and Mrs Scott A Miller Sr arrived home Sunday afternoon for a 15 day furlough. Dick is now stationed at Camp Robinson Arkansas. He was inducted March 26 and began service April 2. He trained at Camp Blanding Florida drilling in six inches of sand. He has won two medals for expert marksmanship and is an expert on the Browning automatic rifle. Ninety six men of his company have already been sent overseas.
