First frost grips region with subfreezing chill
Last Thursday night brought the season’s first frost as the thermometer fell to 27 degrees. Ice formed a quarter inch thick on exposed surfaces and vegetation wilted. The cold lingered behind clouds that cleared yesterday allowing a modest warmup.
Entertained Cheerful Workers Club at Mrs Mathias Home
Mrs Sophia Mathias and daughter Grace Fasnacht hosted the Cheerful Workers club from Ellis last Thursday. Despite chilly weather a good crowd enjoyed a two course luncheon and two guessing games with prizes. Musical entertainment by the Diller siblings followed, and guests left delighted with the afternoon.

Girl Reserves Hold Candle Lighting to Add Eight Members
