Mr G E Wonder traveling representative for Mackie Clemens Fuel company was injured in a Tuesday evening crash on PWE highway near Lawrence Caldwell's residence west of the Blauser schoolhouse. His Chevrolet sedan rolled into a ditch after colliding with Elmer Lohman's truck. Wonder received sixteen stitches for a scalp wound while Lohman escaped with minor injuries.

Dr Geo E Condra, dean of the University of Nebraska conservation and survey division, says Nebraska’s ground water is back to normal after above average rains. He notes the state has more than its share of water underground, with a wide sponge in the sand hills and 1000 times as much water beneath as on the surface. Rainfall significantly boosts supply, yet wells would remain productive even in droughts in many areas. The university reports 600 irrigation wells in Dawson County and ongoing tests along the Platte, with praise from O E Meinger of the US Ground Water Survey for Nebraska’s excellent program.

Reverend and Mrs Proett announce they will move from Junita Nebraska to Colo Iowa to pastor the Methodist church. Colo, population 650, lies fifteen miles east of Ames. The move aids Mrs Proett’s health after a recent appendix operation and Rev Proett has just returned from the hospital.
Rainfall Inches Recorded In Local Area Promptly Noted
In the immediate vicinity residents reported forty three hundreds of an inch of rain Tuesday. The light shower was described as much needed for crops and gardens.
Obituary of Marie Habicht and Family Ties in Diller
Marie Habicht died at her son Carl Habicht’s home in Huron South Dakota after a three year illness. Funeral rites were at Huron Methodist Church with Chas Wilcox officiating. Interment followed beside her husband in Upson cemetery near Diller. Born November 27 1847 in Badenweiler Germany she immigrated aged 18 to Akron Ohio married Wricht in 1869 later moving to Avoca Iowa and then to Diller Nebraska in 1883. Nine children survived or preceded her including Helen Bertha Betty Minnie Ernest Carl and Max with several deceased. She lived in Diller since 1918 and spent final years under care of a nurse. She was baptized in the Quasen Lutheran faith and remained devoted to family and home.
