Abe Watson called on Homer Mr Ab Homdan visited friends Sunday. Miss Idala Ramsey attended a Pawnee county fair Thursday. Mr and Mrs LaVerne Pickard plan to move into the Isaac Saylor farm house. An eight pound boy was born Monday September 25 to Mr and Mrs Fred Garrels. Anna Charley Green had a second hernia operation at Odell hospital Monday and is progressing well. Rent Rents remains in Odell hospital and his old age raises concerns about recovery.

Mrs. Scott A. Miller of Diller was elected president of the Jefferson Co Federation of Women’s Club at the annual convention in Jansen last Thursday. Officers elected include Mrs. Will Reinwald vice president Mrs. G E Clark secretary and Mrs. Will Hammond treasurer. The convention will be held in Diller next year.
A Get-Acquainted social is planned for next Friday evening October 13 at the Methodist church parlors. Rev Drew the new pastor and Public School teachers will be honored guests. Sponsored by the Sunday School the event aims for strong attendance with games group singing and other features.

Mrs. Mollie Riddie entertained Wednesday evening with supper guests including Mr and Mrs Ges Hill of Ontario California Mr and Mrs Less Hill Irene and Gienda and Mrs Opa Giathar and daughters Shirley Ann and Beve Jean Mr and Mrs Geo Gill of Ontario California visiting his father A J Hill and other relatives from Diller Ellis and Washington Kansas The group was en route to the Century of Progress exposition in Chicago by car.

Mr and Mrs J Elbert Hazel Seaman and Mary Hudson of Cody Wyoming with aunt Mrs Christie Seaman had been on a two week auto tour visiting Lincoln Fairfield and Davenport Iowa and most attended the World's Fair. They returned to Diller Friday and enjoyed the trip. They were guests of Mr and Mrs See and Mr and Mrs Chester Sparks and Willis Clark and Carolynn Rose attended events.
Mrs. Roy Mathias hosted a mixed reception at her home on Sept 30 for niece Pearl Fasapacht Fletcher whose June marriage was recently announced. Relatives and friends gathered for a music program a mock wedding advice to the bride and a best recipe exchange. The hostess with help served ice cream and two kinds of cake to guests. The bride appeared handsome and gift items were noted.
