Local reports note Mrs. Les Barber bedridden with illness and hunting season dates set October 1 to December 31. Odell’s Callan filling station robbed Saturday night. Gage county fair attendance includes Supt. and Mrs. A. J. Nelson and others. A. Q. Hinson preached at the Methodist church.
About eighty five guests attended an informal reception given by the Methodist Sunday School in honor of the teachers of the public school last Friday evening September 25.
Leslie Nickeson of Harbine a former resident of Diller celebrated his 86th birthday last Saturday. He received many tokens and a number of friends called on him during the day.
A new time card effective last Sunday shifts Burlington east bound No 16 to 1 17 PM from 12 41 PM and west bound No 17 to 5 35 PM from 5 45 PM. No changes to Nos 14 and 15 night trains.
Mrs Mary Green led members of her Congregational church Sunday School class to the Gage County fair on Wednesday, gathering a group for the outing and activities.
Mr and Mrs C L Waggoner visited Lincoln on Sunday with their son Lynn a student at the state university and other relatives returning Monday for their hometown.
Ten members and seven children gathered for the J. N. W. C. meeting on September 16. Mrs Emma Hiatt chaired. after a brief business session a luncheon was served and plans were made for the next gathering with Mrs Newt Hays on October 7.

A U P train out of Maryville Kansas comprised 150 cars mostly empties and stretched a mile and a quarter, claimed to be the road’s longest ever pulled. Numerous Beatrice attendees from Pi o r and local families including Ww Green, Mr and Mrs Gifford Sparks, and others visited the Gage county fairs at Beatrice Tuesday.
A double wedding occurred at Jefferson County Fair on Tuesday Sept 22 1981 with Alma McFarlane and Earl Hellyer marrying and Rosanna Fielder tying the knot with August Henke. The ceremony drew several thousand as Ray Wilfley sang At Dawning and Rev Shupe officiated on the grandstand platform. The brides carried rose bouquets. the couple will live on a Fairbury area farm after a two week honeymoon through Iowa Illinois and Missouri.
The Record office released the year book of the Diller Woman's club to officers Monday. It includes much of interest to members and the full program for the club year. Mr and Mrs John Catico visited relatives and friends at Falls City while Rev Wm R Velte of Auburn called at the Record office on his return from a business trip.

It notes French claims dating back 15 years, but credits a Du Pont chemist for popularizing it. Uses include hats, stage scenes, artificial grass, false teeth, boxes, and packaging from fruit to fish.
Homer Brunk, manager of the Farmers store, visited Lincoln Wednesday. Mrs. Paul Renz and Mrs. Orville Richardson attended their uncle's funeral in Auburn Nebraska last week. Herman Albers and family moved into town occupying part of Henry Frisbie's home until a house is available. Diller reports scarce housing after a recent boom.
