Death of Harry Close in Diller Nebraska

Obituary notes Harry Burton Close 55 of Dewitt born in Dewitt died at his Diller home Monday November 19 1945. He came to Diller in 1932 from Bruning served as Section Foreman for Burlington and was loved by officers and workers. He lived by the golden rule and was survived by Fern Bartlett Gerald Close Dale Close a brother William Ruppel two sisters Jean Cross Leo Bartlett and three grandchildren. Funeral at the Methodist church in Dewitt Nebr burial there.

Methodist Church W S C S Holds All Day Quilting Meeting

The W S C S of the Methodist Church held a regular meeting with an all day quilting session last Thursday. Mrs Keith Hays led devotions and plans were made for the bazaar on Saturday December 1. Thirty seven members and guests were served creamed chicken on biscuits carrot and celery curls and coffee. Members voted to donate ten cents each for China Mission Relief at the December meeting and a ten cent gift exchange will take place.
