Hadley was suddenly taken ill Sunday with a heart attack and rushed to Odell hospital. He was able to go home Tuesday and his many friends are glad to learn he is improving.
Mr and Mrs Walter Adams and two children of Stratford Iowa visited with her parents and friends, moved to a new location Tuesday morning. Mr Adams hurried to return to corn shelling, stating he shelved 17 000 bushels of corn in eight days.
Visiting in Omaha Mr True Thompson and Mrs Maggie Bobs stayed Saturday night and remained over Sunday with Diller relatives. They were accompanied back to Omaha by Mrs Christie Seaman, who will remain with her for an indefinite time.
Mrs Tom Waggoner arrived last Thursday for a visit with Mr and Mrs W A Filley and other friends in Diler. On Sunday Mr and Mrs Filley took her to Fairbury where she will visit with her brother.
Mrs Carl Freitag and relatives visit Peoria staying with parents Mr and Mrs Ben Roelfs and Rev and Mrs Watters. Alice May motored Leatha Doyle to her next subdistrict meeting in Tecumseh Nebraska. Lawrence Fox visits from Fairbury, plans a few days off from Bi Lo Market. Supt Hubert Filley and daughter of Crete Neb guest of parents. Mrs Floyd Gaueman Mary Jones from Dorchester Neb spent several days with her Jones family.
Hicken Bros will hold a public sale Monday November 26. A list of articles to be sold will be printed next week.

The Service Score Board notes the Army saw about 270000 men separated in October 1945 with ongoing separation centers. Enlistments rose to 55600 in October, near 2500 daily, while Navy enlistments reached about 500 per day during late 1945.
Wives of service men gathered at Mrs Don McKenzie’s home Thursday evening. After progressive Bunco and a lively Hant and Trade, Mrs Norman Malchow won high score, Mrs Gilbert Garrels low score. Second game prize went to Mrs Le Forest Fasnacht. Guests enjoyed jig puzzles and Thanksgiving decor with refreshments. A December gift exchange is planned as Mrs Harold Henrichs hosts. Mrs Norman Daell recently visited Lincoln and Sacramento before returning to Washington. A duck dinner for Mr and Mrs Henry Meyer drew fifteen relatives and birthday candy gifts.
Suffering from an infection Dwaine Green in Odell hospital is reported to be improving. He has been under care for facial infection and progress is noted.
Jordenings Store and the Farmer's Store will close all day Thursday November 22 for Thanksgiving. Customers are advised to shop beforehand and note altered hours.
Word reached Diller friends of the death of Delmar Hall at his home in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Funeral arrangements were not specified in the notice.
The Nebraska Tuberculosis Association announces a statewide school press project in cooperation with national and Columbia press groups. Nebraska high schools may submit papers on Tuberculosis Control or How Christmas Seals Improve Community Health. Awards include prizes and equipment, with judging by professionals and teachers, and national awards for winning pieces.
Bernard Patton reports arrival in the states and discharge at Leavenworth after 57 months in the European theatre. Elville Schipper, discharged Nov 12, served since Feb 1943 with the 5th Army and 630th AAA Bn overseas Aug 1943, earning four campaign stars. Tony Zelény was honorably discharged Nov 7 at Camp McCoy after 35 months in Canada and Alaska.
Robert Hiatt son of Mr and Mrs Clarence Hiatt has graduated from naval radio school in Gulfport Mississippi and has been assigned to the eighth district naval headquarters in New Orleans. He is visiting home folks.
Night classes drew a large crowd of parents and friends. The program in the study hall included The Girls’ Creed sing along with Come To The Fair, several grade numbers, and the one act play Women Who Wait. Rubinoff Concert plans, One Act Play Festival in the Opera House, and entrants Plymouth and Steele City were noted. Robert Pallen of Fairbury will act as critic. Plays start at 7 30 with admission 20 and 85 cents. Girls volleyball practice Fridays under Mrs Stiers and Pep Club rehearsals for basketball. Cheerleaders named Gloria Miller Gladys Rahe Beverly Haye. JCA at Steele City last Tuesday night. All teachers attended the dinner. No classes Thursday and Friday next week.
President Truman has bought the fleet for the 39th annual Christmas Seals sale sponsored by the National Tuberculosis Association. Seals will be sold to the public from November 19 until Christmas.
Garnet Barber expresses gratitude for the cards and flowers during illness. Eva Green visits her sister Mrs Ray Colman and family at Hastings Nebraska this week.
The Youth Fellowship of the Evangelical and Reformed Church presents a three act comedy Aunt Bessie Beats the Band at the Harbine Schoolhouse on Friday evening November 16 beginning at 8 o'clock admission 16 and 35 cents.

The B B Kensington met November 13 with Mrs Jennie Thompson for an anniversary covered dish dinner. Thirteen members and four visitors attended. Elected for the coming year were President Blanche Stephens Vice President Clara Novotny Secretary Alice Gretzinger and Treasurer Rose Banshan.
