Mrs Minnie Boxwell arrives to live with her uncle Geo Cunningham and brother Alvin Martin in Herrington Kansas after her husband died of influenza and she recovers from an earlier illness. Accompanied by neighbor Mrs Orr who had nursed her, she traveled with the group on Wednesday.

Reinstated San Grail Lodge No 141 Hosts Fraternal Meeting

Deputy Grand Chancellor H W Milner and Grand Keeper Will H Love attended the re institution of San Grail Lodge No 141 Knights of Pythias in Masonic hall last night. The lodge had been dormant after Joock's Opera House fire destroyed its charter and paraphernalia. Sixteen to eighteen members present and at least six new applications acted upon. Several Steele City lodge members attended and oysters were served after the work.

A 10% pound boy arrived Monday night November 18 to Mr and Mrs Fred Grabber seven miles northeast of Jiller. Mrs FE Weigel returned to Beatrice Lutheran hospital Wednesday for toe infection treatment and Mr Weigel plans to bring her home today after visiting Monday.

Ladies of M E church plan Saturday supper sale

The Ladies of the M. E. church will host a supper on Saturday evening December 7 with art novelty goods for sale. It offers a chance to buy Christian presents. Mr and Mrs C L Waggon er and Mrs Bert Bell are visiting from Hiawatha Kansas after attending a Kansas City shooting tournament where he was high man day one earning a $25 trophy with 98 of 100. Waggoner is a noted amateur trapshooter. Miss Cora Wright returns to Fairbury to resume teaching as schools reopen after the flu pause. Christmas parcel drive extends to November 30

The War Department extends forwarding of Christmas parcels to men in expeditionary forces to November 30. The American Red Cross will print sufficient Christmas labels like those from abroad, issued by chapters to individuals missing labels. Applicants must sign a printed form obtainable from their chapter, with local Miss L. O. Ballard serving Diller area.

Reform festival observed with service and offerings

The church schedules Sunday school at 10 a.m. and morning service at 11 a.m. on November 24 to observe Reform festival. A Ladies Aid meeting is at 3 p.m. and choir practice at 7:30 p.m. A Thanksgiving service is set for November 28 at 10:30 a.m. A Christmas box for Tabitha Home orphans will be prepared Thanksgiving evening.
