Letters from France written before the armistice by Scott Miller Charles Renz Everett Blauser and Ray W Green will be published next week in part. The editors invite additional letters for possible inclusion and readers are asked to send correspondence promptly.
Mrs H A Bell returned Tuesday evening from Weeping Water where she had accompanied her daughter Pearl to attend the funeral of her friend who died of influenza in a southern training camp. Miss Bell stayed longer with friends and returned Wednesday evening. Farmers invest more in their farms than town merchants invest in stores and are urged to apply business methods to farming.
Vice-President Marshal will appear at the Omaha Auditorium on December 6 to address the Nebraska War Won For Permanent Peace Convention. The announcement of President Wilson's France visit has brought Marshal into the limelight and the Nebraska appearance is expected to arouse state wide interest.
The county council of defense met in Fairbury on Monday to hear explanations from those who failed to subscribe to the 4th Liberty Loan and the allied War Works Fund as they had been expected to do.
The Avery Lib. Co. advertises lumber billing terms and guarantees satisfaction. It also promotes Cole coal and coke guaranteed to be first class for base burners, with CG. L. Geer as manager.
In Lincoln Nebraska on November 25 1918 the Diller Red Cross thanks for the comfort kit received today. The note says the kit is dandy and useful and better than any seen. Signed by Ray Remely Max Bell James Baker Arno Feats Near Diller Everett Green. The message adds that they are feeling fine and enjoying barracks life.

It notes Miss U Q Ballard visiting Omaha, Claude Cavett securing a window trimmer post, Mrs. Raymond keeping her harness shop open for a successor, and Clint Coleya’s death from influenza in a training camp. Also covers M W A and Home Guard Memorial plans with Oscar Mathias, and a church supper sale of art novelties for Christmas gifts.

A War Emergency and Reconstruction unit of the Missionary Centenary commission of the Methodist church established to rebuild churches and schools in France and Belgium and aid displaced peoples. It has raised 25000 for immediate use and plans to seek 5000000 in the first year plus the 16000900 Centenary offering.
The Methodist church extends sympathy to the Mathias family after the death of their son and brother Private Oscar Mathias. Memorial exercises are scheduled Sunday at 2 30 PM in the Diller opera house.
The State Director of War Savings reports the Treasury will issue a new Series of 1919 War Savings Certificates and stamps with a maturity date of January 1, 1924. A blue five dollar War Savings Stamp featuring Franklin and a former Postmaster General is prepared. Thrift Stamps and Cards continue and can be exchanged into Series 1919 stamps payable in 1924.
