Mrs H A Bell returned Tuesday evening from Weeping Water where she had accompanied her daughter Pearl to attend the funeral of her friend who died of influenza in a southern training camp. Miss Bell stayed longer with friends and returned Wednesday evening. Farmers invest more in their farms than town merchants invest in stores and are urged to apply business methods to farming.

War Savings to Continue in 1919 Series Issued

The State Director of War Savings reports the Treasury will issue a new Series of 1919 War Savings Certificates and stamps with a maturity date of January 1, 1924. A blue five dollar War Savings Stamp featuring Franklin and a former Postmaster General is prepared. Thrift Stamps and Cards continue and can be exchanged into Series 1919 stamps payable in 1924.
