Dr L A Powell of Adama Nebraska and former local resident spent Tuesday evening with Diller friends, joined his wife on No 17 for a visit with relatives at Superior, then plans to spend the winter at Corpus Christi Texas.
Mrs H E Green traveled from Lincoln where her son Everett Green joined the S A T C at the State University and underwent a double operation for rupture at Dr Everettts hospital. He is recovering well and expected to be released soon. She also saw Curtis Geer in the same hospital recovering from a broken leg after a fall from a telephone pole in Fairbury and hoped to return next week.
The Naomi Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in Diller Nebraska expresses sincere sympathy to the daughter and son of Mary Ewers a charter member known for faithful attendance. The pastor will be at Rock Creek next Sunday for morning services. Church school meets at 10. Evening preaching follows Epworth League. A cordial welcome is extended to all. Nearly 100 attended Sunday school. good turnout at morning worship. The war's end and world peace are seen as reasons to renew church interest in Europe and Asia.
Governor Neville urges Nebraska boys aged 15 years 7 months to 18 to register for the United States Boys Working Reserve at the polls on November 14. If unavailable they may register by mail or at the County Superintendent’s office, with full registration required by November 20.
