Death of Grandson from Scarlet Fever in Fairplay

Esquire D R Kelley learned by message Saturday of his six year old grandson Ronald Kelley dying at 7 30 am in Fairplay Colorado from scarlet fever. The boy was the son of Mr and Mrs Gus Kelley who had recently moved from Phillips county Kansas. Mrs Kelley and another child are seriously ill with the same disease and not expected to recover.

Former son in law of Andy Diller, Bemis, pleaded guilty to statutory rape of Bertha Hutzler’s son and was sentenced by Judge Kelligar to five years in the penitentiary. Beatrice papers report Mrs. John Fowler died at 45 from inflammation of the bowels, widow of Lyte Beedy of Endicott and Steele City, daughter of Aaron Wells.

School Notes Paragraph on Absent Students and Exams

Grace Bell reports Ruth Sparks absent this week and Thanksgiving day a school vacation. The Third grade studies county precincts while some In termediate room pupils are also away.
