School report for district 32 covers 20 teaching days ending Oct 27 1905 with 23 pupils enrolled and 14 average attendance. Notable: Hon A H Babcock veteran judge died Sunday at Beatrice aged about 69 after four months illness. He served in 8th Michigan volunteers and on Gen Granger's staff. He practiced law in Nebraska and served as district judge from 1892 to 1902. Funeral held Wednesday in Beatrice with many lawmakers and legal peers present.
Winesses including B F Lightner and J W Fouts testified Tuesday in Fairbury as heirs of Mrs Caroline Mathias seek a guardian for her claiming lack of property management. The $8000 land transfer to B F Mathias for $300 yearly during her life prompted the filing. Judge Boyle reserved decision for one week after arguments.

Miss Gladys Logan Miss Blanche Logan and Miss Mary Jones visited Fairbury Saturday. County Sheriff candidate Mr. Clark, an excellent violinist, entertained friends at the Logan home Monday evening. A Rock Creek schoolhouse pie social Friday was a success with many attendees. Edith and Ruth Lambert visited Fairbury Friday. Chas Monasmith hauled apples to Fairbury Saturday. Ruth Lambert hosted a Halloween party with ghostly figures and Jack o lanterns as usual. The eastside hotel at Steele City burned yesterday causing several thousand dollars in damage. cucumber seed harvest prospers at Woods River Neb with workers processing seed from ripe cucumbers. Pineules promise relief for backache sold at Neeley’s Pharmacy. Diller children’s Halloween pranks included moving vehicles and vandalizing Main Street and the section house yard. The town absorbed sidewalk damage with several roads and outbuildings affected.
