It appears Pea of flowers will be used for decoration as corn planting has been delayed by recent heavy rains. Dr. Ellis attended the Nebraska Dental Convention in Lincoln this week.
Jas. Hayes, who suffered a crushed foot when a horse fell on him last Sunday, was seen in town on crutches Tuesday.
Ralph Beckwith travels to Carlton on Sunday to begin work at a bakery run by his brother in law Wayne Richardson. The post office will have holiday hours and there will be no rural mail delivery next Friday due to Decoration Day.
Mrs. Tom Baumfolk will entertain the B. B. Kensington Tuesday May 27 with Mrs. Hanson and Mrs. Pingle on the entertaining committee.
The Mothers and Daughters banquet at the Methodist church basement, set for next Tuesday, has been indefinitely postponed due to illness.
Mr and Mrs Wesley Carico and daughter Dorothy Marie and Mr and Mrs Fred Dedrick and Mr and Mrs Forest Branen of Fall City spent Sunday at the home of their parents Mr and Mrs John Carico.
W M Henrichs sells his farm and will hold a public sale next Wednesday May 28 starting at 10 oclock with a free lunch at noon. Bills for the sale were printed at this office per the advertisement in another part of the paper.
Mr and Mrs John Casper of Auburn Nebraska arrive with Mrs Rosa Gerdes for a brief visit with Mr and Mrs Henry Weers and family. Mrs Casper formerly Tillie Gerdes is a niece of Mrs Weers. They planned a trip to Athol Kansas to see more relatives before returning.
M Callander markets fine homegrown strawberries while a 2 to 5 inch snow fell Saturday in the western and central parts of the state.
Town residents warned of a possible window peeper as officials urge caution. Citizens advised to stay alert and report suspicious activity to police.
Mrs Frank Andelt and her daughter Beverly Jean are visiting at the home of Mrs Thompson’s parents, Mr and Mrs S J Thompson, during a stay that highlights family gathering in the area.
H. H. Green and family and Frank Johnson among Lewiston visitors to McDonald Kansas to call on Mr. and Mrs. Steve Maw Sunday. Floyd Maw's son from Lewiston also present.
John Greider negotiated the sale of the W.M. Henrich 160 acre farm located one half mile south and one mile west of Diller. The all under cultivation property with good improvements was sold to the Diller State Bank for $16,000.
Mr and Mrs Onka Lottman and son Ferdinand and son in law William Weimers joined their son in law and daughter Mr and Mrs Henry Reinholdt and their son Melvin to Omaha on Tuesday during their journey back to Remsen Iowa.
The funeral for Wallace Brock of Fairbury was held Monday after his body was recovered Friday evening. The search for the boy, who drowned May 3, was hindered by high water from recent heavy rains and mud on an island about a half mile downstream.
Notice to qualified voters of School District No. 70 Diller Jefferson County Nebraska that the annual meeting will be held at the district school on Monday June 9 1930 at 8 PM. Voters will decide by taxation on raising 13000 dollars for next year as required by law. Board of Education Dist. No. 70.
Jones summer shows arrive May 29 featuring improved seating lighting and larger casts under Mr Jones supervision. A daily junior program runs for kids and season tickets are sold at local banks with no sales push. Ponpy Day is observed tomorrow and Diller shops close Friday at noon for Decoration Day as Supt and Mrs Nelson begin a Canada west coast trip.
Rev. H. J. Dietghoff will give the annual trial sermon Sunday evening May 25 at 8 o clock in the Methodist church. The event is a union meeting inviting the community to worship together.
Former Diller area resident W. T. Ward, now living at 11817 Kelton Ave in Cleveland Colorado, renews for the Record this week. He notes he remains hobbling on crutches and says he looks forward to the Record each Monday and sends best wishes to friends.
Between seventy five and one hundred ten car loads of pipe and couplings were unloaded at Burlington station in Diller for the Missouri Valley Gas Company. The line will run east across Jefferson and Gage counties with the couplings from Pennsylvania and pipe from Milwaukee already in place.

Emma Glathar accompanies him to Fairbury, where they view a mammoth whale on exhibition en route on a Rock Island side track.
Mrs. Ben Siebelts entertained the N R C group Wednesday afternoon with eight ladies three children and three visitors Mrs M B Rich Mrs E L Dougherty and Miss Velma Amos present. Guests enjoyed visiting guessing contests won by Mrs Margaret Albers and Mrs Frank Grone. Dainty refreshments were served. Next meeting set for June 4 with Mrs Bert Weaver. Roll call joke about another member.
