Mrs Grayce Cummins of Falls City spent the weekend at the home of her uncle and aunt Mr and Mrs A. A. Eicks.
Virgil Geer receives a promotion to sergeant in England. The column lists visits and dinners: Jock Armstrong couple at Baumfolk home, Wiemers at Dan Garton home, Rev. Otto Spehr returning from Oklahoma City Midwest Synod, H H Green and family dining with Earl McKenzie in Fairbury, and Chase Barber on the sick list. Also mentions Beverly Henrichs visiting grandparents, Orpha Waggoner hosting for Clara Allen who heads to Hawaii, and multiple guests including Mains, Garton, and Hemminger families visiting Lincoln and Falls City.
Mrs Orlo Geer hosted a birthday party last Saturday afternoon for her son Donald who turned six. After games the children opened gifts and then shared a lunch with a cake lit by six candles. Guests included Sandra Lauder Carole Scheele Gary Blauser Robert Casper Bethelee Elaine Baumfolk Marilyn Gloria Miller and Robert Donald Geer.
Sunday guests visited Beatrice relatives including Mr. and Mrs. Bert Weaver and Donnie at her mother’s home. Mrs. W. H. Clark of Ellis Nebr. returned home after hospital treatment in Beatrice. A Sunday dinner at Roy Mathias included Jens Pierce Beatrice Clyde Hamburger Hastings John Wilms Harriet Vena Wehling Lanham John Mathias Fred Leonard Ellis La Forest Fasnacht and baby C Blauser family.
Mr Eva Green hosted a Sunday gathering for the Ladies quartet and families to honor Richard Steffen who departs next Saturday for Omaha to enter the Navy. Guests included Robert L. Pulien pastor of the Congregational Church and Mrs Fouts.
David and George Bowsher of Fiuth Colorado arrived in Fairbury to inspect land 18 miles north and 24 miles west of Diller believed part of the Bowsher estate. Dave seeks recovery from a heart attack after arrival while plans include visiting old friends and relatives. Mrs. Mary Bowsher passed away about a year ago.
Mr. S. H. Diller of Bloomington Indiana arrived Tuesday to spend a month visiting relatives and friends in Diller and Fairbury.
Robert Pullen minister presents Sunday School at 10 a.m. and church services at 11 a.m. Mrs Earl Weigel is superintendent of Sunday School.
Rev Harden and Pastor Mrs Robert Upson lead Sunday School at 10 30 a m followed by Worship Service at 11 30 a m and S S Suprt participates in the program.
