Educational Day showcases county wide activities at all high schools. Diller hosts eleven rural schools for a rural boys and girls program. Parents invited to join the fun and cheer trophy awarded to top scoring schools between acts of the senior play next Friday night May 10.
The band uniform fund for the Diller organization estimated at about $450. About one-fifth of the amount has been subscribed. It is proposed to publish names of givers and their amounts in the Record and carry the total forward weekly until the goal is reached. What do you think?
Mr and Mrs Dan Condon and sister Mrs Margaret Walsh hosted a reunion with Genevieve Condon of Omaha. They recalled childhood days at C L Geer's home on a Wednesday evening and shared many unbelievable tales from years past.
Dr Diehl vaccinated a group in town and a small pox scare arose in Fairbury. Local business leaders doubt the danger while other reliable sources report hundreds of cases, leaving residents unsure which account is correct.
Curtis Geer from Fairbury chauffeured a party of ladies to a Rebekah meeting at Mrs. Roy Geer’s home on Wednesday afternoon. He visited his brother Roy and others during the visit.
Mr and Mrs John Pulec travel to hills west of Diller to collect flint rock for their rock garden. They retrieve a stone weighing about fifteen hundred pounds and require an auto wrecker to move it.
Diller High School will be represented again at the state music contest in Lincoln on Saturday. The girls Glee Club will enter, and soloist Gretchen Fanders will perform a low voice selection.

Mrs Frank Grabber, once believed near death from measles, is recovering and able to stand up part of the time.
Dr. Diehl reports the measles outbreak here has subsided with considerable difficulty, and all patients are now recovering.
Mrs Emma Fry, who has been ill for some time, is reported much worse than a week ago.
Miss Vivian Waggoner daughter of Mr and Mrs C L Waggoner married Mr Kgil Geer on Sunday April 28 at 2 PM in the Waggoner home with Rev Rob ere Drew officiating Attendants were Mr and Mrs Robert Beckwith of Carlton Nebraska The couple plan to reside in Diller where Geer works with his brother A bridal shower was held at Mrs Chas E Waggoner s home They have contracted to purchase Greenwood residence and will start housekeeping soon.
The Dime Chain letters reached Diller this week with copies from Longmont Colorado. The letters urge forwarding five copies and sending ten cents for each step, promising large returns. Postal reports indicate Denver postmen handle hundreds of these letters daily and authorities call the chain fraudulent.
The Diller Woman's Club hosts mothers and daughters for a May 8 musical with Edward Grieg works at the Congregational Church. Miss Mares presents Grieg life, peer Gynt excerpts, and performers include Cleo Green, Lucille Barnett, Gretchen Fandesr, and Rachel Diller. A 10 cent cover supports a post recital Mother's Delight luncheon. Edith Louise Neuman of Wymore attends as district music chair.

J Smith Diller traveled to Cheyenne County Kansas this week for a business engagement.
Ermie Smith born March 20 1873 in Blandons ville Illinois died April 23 1935 at home near Diller Nebraska aged 62 years 1 month 3 days. She married Harry H Greider February 20 1899 and leaves husband daughter Wilma. Funeral Friday at 2 PM Rev Drew officiating interment at Praire Home cemetery.

Scott A Miller received a midnight telephone message from his aunt Mrs Dave Diller of Pittsburg Kansas reporting the death of his brother P F Miller in Pittsburg. He died at 10 46 from a heart attack. Funeral services were held Thursday with Fred Clark Willis Clark Harry and True Thompson and Scott Miller traveling Wednesday morning to Pittsburg for the funeral.
Mr and Mrs Frank Grabber and Betty thank friends and neighbors for flowers cards food and the needy loan during their illness caused by measles.
Mr and Mrs Rolf Beckman express thanks to neighbors and responders who assisted in extinguishing a fire at their home. They appreciate police firefighters and volunteers for their prompt, lifesaving efforts.

Falls City Nebraska will host two Christian denominations after a church split over a chicken dinner donation. The Central Christian church reorganized and held its first meeting in a theatre. Rev Alber of Lincoln will preach for the other group in the old church until a successor to the former pastor is found.
A Fairbury group told the Nebraska House relief investigation committee that relief recipients must work extra hours for government commodities and that car bill allowances are disallowed after relief approval. The speakers accused current relief administrators of mismanagement and shortages in Jefferson County.
