Woman in Colorado cabin defends against unseen danger by firing at door
Margaret Alexander, living with her son near Weston Pass in 1897, faces a deadly blizzard and a prowling fox after her husband Dan leaves to fetch provisions. She fires three times through the door, only to discover the target was a fox seeking shelter, not an intruder, and later sells the pelt.
