Root, who owns a couple hundred acres near the city, arrived Saturday from Batavia, Ill. On Tuesday he sold his rent corn cribbed on the place to Mr. Strawhacker, a Steele City cattle feeder, for 55 cents per bushel. Root may erect new buildings on the farm if he does not sell.
