Mies Bertha McCall recovers from measles. Mrs J O Blauser and both boys had measles this week. Blue Bell cream separator marketed by J O Blauser. Hay for sale two miles from Diller. L M Cavett and Clarence Eaton visited Lincoln with their mother. Vester Carmichael returns from Marysville Kansas and Beatrice. Rings Little Liver Pills advertised by Neely's Pharmacy. Gaisford family returns to Arkansas with child. Mrs Nellie Nichole and Miss Olive Beaver visit aunt then go to Wilber and Beatrice.
The village primary nominated Fred Clark and Alex Bell for two trustee terms to replace Alex Bell and J D Fanders. Waterworks and roads issues were debated with a motion to submit waterworks questions to the April 6 village election. A Deshler waterworks investigation was requested along with other sites. Miss Lottie Loock returned from Lincoln after stenography study. Fred Queen injured a thumb on a buzz saw. St Patrick's Day garlands were worn as locals noted the Irish mood.
An old advertisement touts Dr King’s New Life Pills as a preventive cure for appendicitis and multiple ailments. It claims gentle stimulation of stomach liver and bowels preventing clogging and offering relief from biliousness chills malaria headache and indigestion. Available 25 cents at Spear Drug Co.
Having sold our stock of general merchandise to the Diller Mercantile Co. of Diller Nebr we desire to collect all outstanding accounts as soon as possible and ask everyone indebted to us to call at our old place of business and settle at their earliest convenience.
The M W A announces its first April meeting inviting all members and immediate families. A program of songs recitations and music will be performed, continuing the Woodmen’s reputation for entertaining gatherings.
The Athletic club is procuring a baseball outfit. A dozen measles victims return to school this week and more seek share of the disease. Sylvia Miller and Gladys Neely have been very sick. Scott Miller navigates his second measles bout in months. Jefferson County Teachers Association spring meeting set for next Saturday at Fairbury. Horace Green visited the Intermediate and Grammar departments Friday. A first grade class for beginners will be organized next Monday. The Literary club questions the globe spanning battleship voyage and funds. It seeks a debate with neighboring high schools. Saint Patrick and Katherine Roche, our high school teacher, shared honors Wednesday. Postal birthday greetings were followed by a surprise at the high school in the evening.
Scott Miller, a very sick boy, has suffered a relapse from measles and remains under medical care this week.
