Mr and Mrs F D Fanders marked fifty years of marriage with a dinner and program at their Harbine home on February 22 celebrants from nearby families attended including Mrs J D Anders of Fairbury a bridesmaid at the wedding five decades earlier Open house followed from 4 to 10 pm with ice cream cake and congratulations. The couple born in Germany and Wisconsin in 1856 and 1861 married in 1883 moved to Cass County Nebraska in 1875 and 1881 later settling near Diller and then Harbine.
The three and a half months old son of Mr and Mrs Bruce Highly died early Monday at his grandparents home two miles west of Endicott from erysipelas. The infant’s death follows a period of illness as family members mourn this tragedy.
Public sale of the late Seede Wiemers and the Wiemers Bros. stock and belongings, including Chester White Hampshire and Spotted Poland China bred sows and gifts, was postponed from Wednesday March 8 to a later date at the home place two and a half miles west and one-half mile south of Diller.

Gage county board of supervisors at Beatrice last week cut pay for highway workers and staff. Men with teams receive 24 cents an hour and laborers 20 cents, with scales at 40 and 25 cents. The probation officer's salary was reduced from 40 to 25 dollars per month.
