Scott Miller stayed from Saturday to Monday at his parents home Mr. and Mrs. P B Miller before returning to Lincoln to attend a business college. John W Miller of Lincoln arrived on Wednesday representing Cleveland Refining Co to visit relatives and tend his Diller property interests.
A large attendance is requested at camp Saturday evening March 2 to consider the new rate question and advisability of sending a delegate to a state meeting.
Mrs Jacob P Lichty died early Tuesday after an illness reported in the Record last week. The funeral was held at 2 o clock yesterday afternoon from the Presbyterian church with Revs Boyle and Maxey officiating. Interment followed in Prairie Home cemetery. A suitable obituary notice will be published next week.
Mr and Mrs G C Blauser celebrated their twentieth wedding anniversary with about forty guests. Prizes included a glass flower vase to E B Macxy and a non living setter dog to R L Oaks. A piano violin cornet and vocal program pleased attendees.
M L Evans, long-time resident of the old Capt. Starr place now owned by A M Strawhacker, has moved to Thornburg Nebraska this week where the Record will make weekly visits.
Mesdames J. D. Fanders and Emil Tarnow attended the funeral of their niece Miss Millie Tjaden in Peoria Illinois. Millie died of consumption and was buried Sunday.
The 1911 Nebraska fire report records 1 348 fires statewide led by Omaha with 620 and Lincoln with 150. Principal causes include sparks from chimneys 84 gasoline stoves 59 matches and children 57 incendiary 40 lightning 27 overheated stoves 22 defective wiring 18 hot ashes 22 and carelessly discarded cigars and defective flues noted in the figures.
Sunday school at 10 a.m. and preaching at 11 a.m. Regular evening service. Revival meetings at Rock Creek suspended due to snow but to resume when weather permits. Rev. R N Orrill preached at Rock Creek last Saturday. Diller church at 1 a.m. Easter program is being prepared on missionary lines for Rock Creek.
