Citizens owing Spear Drug Co are urged to settle at the drug store. A residence at 11 Dr H Bauguess, in the town's west part, was struck by lightning on Monday morning. R L Oaks alerted residents and the fire was put out with damage estimated at six to eight dollars.

School Meeting Scheduled for Dist. 70 in Diller

Prof Grimes returns to Peru Normal. Mrs Pearl visits from Spokane for a family gathering. Ed Kielameier returns from Beatrice to summer at home and work in the drug store. Director Lightner posts notices for the annual District 70 meeting at the school house on Monday June 27 for two trustee elections and other business.

Fred Henrichs and J. E. Clark visited St. Joe market with stock on Monday with Henrichs delivering two cattle cars and one hog car while Clark brought one hog car. J H Madden and family H T F Davis and family Jessie Pierce and family and J C Hood and family spent Sunday with neighbors Mr and Mrs C E Caldwell at the old Peter Jansen ranch near Jansen, sharing dinners and enjoying a warm reception.

Diller Social Featuring Place Cards and Photos at Colman Home

Last Sunday guests at the Colman home enjoyed a four course luncheon for twelve with flowers and a decorative table. Special music followed by a photo session under Shade of the Old Apple Tree capped the day as guests departed about thirty, thanking the hosts.

Local Travel Notes and Sale Announcements

J O Blauser made a business trip to the county seat Monday. Mrs C E Morris went Tuesday to Kansas City to visit her daughter Mrs Steele. Mrs H Z Diller and daughters Gertrude and Pearl went Tuesday to visit her mother at Nevada MO. We have a few two row Dempster cultivators which were carried over that we will sell at half price. Also a few good second hand buggies at a bargain. Cal Waggoner returned Saturday from Columbus Neb where he attended the state shooting tournament and was high man out of 135 in one hundred clay pigeons, Cal breaking ninety eight of them. He only broke ninety two out of the second hundred.

A church announces Bible school at 10 a m, worship at 11 a m, and evening service at 8 p m with all invited. Dawn services plan next Sunday including Sunday school at 10 a m and Epworth League at 7 p m. Poem speaks of Calvary and gospel mountains, urging divine guidance.
