Mrs W H Schouelle was driven to Des Moines Iowa for appendicitis treatment yesterday accompanied by her brother Dr Al Steffen and Dr Neely as far as Fairbury where they were joined by Thos P Price in his auto to complete the trip.

Fireworks Spectacle Promised at State Fair

The first four evenings of the State Fair from September 5 to 7 will feature one of the West’s greatest fireworks displays. New designs are planned along with bomb bursts and sky battles, with war balloons and other pyrotechnic art promised by modern manufacturers for an entertaining fair season.

Epworth League hosts an ice cream social in the M E church basement on Saturday evening June 18. Mr and Mrs F E Tincher traveled from Fairbury to Odell and visited with Mr and Mrs Rigdon for the day, riding over Sunday morning.

Loock Family Celebrates 80th Birthday at Dilner

Mr. L. E. Loock and his sons E. L. and John Loock along with families marked an 80th birthday Sunday at Merang’s home. Guests included Ure E. L. Loock, J. T. Henrichs, and Jacob Lottman. He remains hale and active and hopes for a modern home near Diller with his wife to join soon.

A Sunday program for children and youth on Sabbath June 19 includes 11 AM music and sermon with a special offering for Sabbath School Missionary work. An evening sermon for young men is at 8 PM, with Sabbath school at 10 AM and Endeavor at 7 PM led by Rev. Wa. Boys, Pastor.
