Roe Patton walked in his sleep Sunday night and went to John Greider in his pajamas. He woke Greider by knocking and then returned home to bed. Roe is the son of Mr and Mrs Roy Patton.
Mrs. E. L. Loock and daughter Gertrude Henrichs with Madeline Henrichs of Ogalala Nebraska Mother in Law Helen Bowder and child of Los Angeles and Mrs Eleanor Lea of Fairbury visited together at the latter's home in Fairbury over the weekend. The group visited Diller Saturday night and again Monday to decorate graves.
Mr and Mrs Fred Clark their son Evertt and Scott Wells of Jansen left Diller this morning in a Buick with a trailer loaded with painting gear. They head to eastern Iowa to begin a season painting farms now under Prudential Insurance Company control supervised by Fred Starr.
John E. Hayworth from Omaha stayed overnight with his uncle and aunt Mr and Mrs Saylor. They went to Odell Monday to decorate the graves of John s family. Mrs E L Loock Gertrude Henrichs and daughter Helen also visited the Saylor home Monday.
Mr and Mrs Charles Waggoner entertained relatives last Sunday including Mrs James Conniff and her daughter's family Mr and Mrs Henry Creath and daughter of Lincoln and Mrs Annie Hemminger of Beatrice during the day at the Waggoner home.
Miss Eunice Henrichs a registered nurse spent weekend with her parents Mr and Mrs Fred Henrichs at this place. She holds a position at Lincoln General Hospital.
Mr and Mrs Bruce Weigel of Waterloo Iowa and Mr and Mrs Willi Weigel with family of Lincoln were Sunday guests at the home of Mr and Mrs Earl Weigel located south of Diller.

Diller beat Steele City 6 to 2 on the local field Sunday afternoon after a scheduled game. Diller's pitchers held Steele City to two runs while Diller posted six.
The Steele City News reported the death of Charles Ankrum of Fairbury last week. The Ank rums were longtime residents and anchors of the Steele City neighborhood.

Mr and Mrs Jess Brandt with Mr and Mrs H Z Diller traveled from Lincoln to Beatrice to visit relatives but stalled at a red light when the radiator hose came loose draining water. They could not start as the light turned green and had to be pushed to a garage. After hours of cooling the engine gaskets melted and disappeared. One of the ladies drove.
Mr and Mrs Earnest Habicht visited Worthington Minnesota relatives and friends last Sunday afternoon. Mrs Habicht spent time with her mother and sisters while Earnest socialized with old friends downtown. They left for home early Wednesday morning.
Dave Diller of Pittsburg Kansas visited last Sunday for Decoration Day, saying he would escape asthma this summer by staying at about seven thousand feet in the Rockies and avoid cold winters by moving to Southern California, a plan notable to locals.
Big D Dale Garrels earned extra curricular honors after lettering in track and setting a new Doane two mile record during the convocation last Friday. Rob ert Van Pelt Lincoln s attorney and Doane trustee delivered the address recognizing dramatics forensics journalism music and athletics.
Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Waggoner hosted a 6 o'clock dinner last Sunday in Diller. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. James Elsb, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Van Marter of Fairbury, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Vogel of Ocean Park, Hinds, and Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Geer and daughter of Diller.
Mr and Mrs Orle Geer traveled to Lincoln on Monday to meet his sister who came from Ainsley Nebraska to spend time at their home in Duler.

Formal notices reveal the marriage of Dr. Joseph Bixby of Geneva Nebraska to Miss Roby daughter of Mr and Mrs Clarence Rock in Vallaiso Indiana on Friday November 25 1937. The bride has taught in Geneva schools for years and the couple left for a western coast trip after the ceremony. Dr Bixby is Cavett Bixbys brother. Thirteen years have passed since the first Mrs Bixby died.
Former Diller residents visited the cemetery on Decoration Day. An unusually large procession of flowers graced the graves as a sacred tribute. The opera house program started at two o'clock and soldiers’ graves received additional blossoms afterward. Attendees included Thomas and Mrs Price, Harve Pittenger family, Jesse Pierce and kin, A J Cully and Grace, Perry Cully’s son and family, Mrs Bert Geragil, Charles Darr, Grace Myers.
The County Agricultural Office advises farmers to leave back swaths and narrow strips as traps after alfalfa mowing. Hoppers concentrate along these strips within 2 3 days, then bait spread along the strips controls them. Bait pasture draws or waste land now, as warm temperatures boost egg hatch and early control is crucial.
Mr and Mrs J H Beckwith and two sons Lick and Darrell visited Humboldt Nebraska last Friday to see their daughter Mary graduate from the Humboldt public schools. She stayed for the family reunion dinner at the Gym and will teach near Humboldt next year.
Mrs. Sarah Earhart mother of Lee Earhart Union Pacific agent at Steele City died at her home early Tuesday in Steele City aged 75 years two months and 14 days. Funeral services were held at Hamlin Kansas at two this afternoon with interment in the Hiawatha Kansas cemetery Wagonser Brothers funeral service.
Mr and Mrs Henry Diller of Denver spent Decoration Day at a local place visiting relatives and tracing family ties during the holiday observance.

London son of Mrs J L London earned valedictorian honors for Fairbury High School class of 1938 at May 26 commencement in Fairbury He maintained a straight A average through four years and won a national $285 University of Southern California tuition scholarship for 1938 39 He declined a church school scholarship and may enroll next September resigning as teacher at Thompson school He held National Honor Society vice presidency and participated in band glee club choir operetta Senior class play and music contests earning superior ratings at district and regional events
Five year old Roger Babcock, son of Mrs. Maxine Babcock and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Colman, wowed Lincoln at a circus parade. His grandma explained the animals as the calliope rolled, and he asked, Oh hear the anthem track, a phrase his mother uses with choir music.

A June 1 1938 wedding in Diller linked Miss Faye Diller to Walter Carpenter at the Congregational Church. Rev. H H Pyche officiated. reception followed with a pink rose decor, a two tier cake, and a guest list including many Diller and Carpenter family members. The bridal party departed for Lincoln after the celebration.
