County AAA extends wheat loan period and insurance plan
The county AAA extends the excess wheat loan period from April 30, 1942, to April 30, 1943 to help farmers avoid penalties by holding wheat off the market. A congressional bill would allow overplanted farmers to market normal production on allotted acres without penalty, aiding smallholders with poor crops. The 1942 All Risk Wheat Crop Insurance program is being implemented with district meetings in Hebron and Fairbury. Applications for AAA insurance are due before seeding starts, with premiums due Aug 15, 1942 via a non interest bearing note.
