At a Steele City picnic Tuesday night a clash erupted involving Doc Viers Mrs Viers Rachel and Elmer Campbell. Harry Lottman and a Fahrenwalt boy sparked the fracas with both sides receiving blows and Viers taking the haymaker as Campbell also endured a choking incident. Officers stopped the fight and bystanders noted the melee recalling an earlier injury incident.

Whiskered Willies Booster Trip Delivers Unique Show
A Diller boosters troupe styled as whiskered men toured Harbine to Plymouth in a large truck and a car. The act featured a three member musical group and a performing horse named Josephine. The Missouri Club held its first annual picnic at Fairbury last year for Missourians to gather for a day of fun. The second picnic is set for Sunday August 27 at Fairbury city park with a noon picnic dinner and a program to follow. Secretary W F Matthis invites all Missourians to attend.

Annual Band Festival at Fairbury Draws Ten Bands
Ten bands will take part in the fall band festival at Fairbury on Sunday August 24 if plans hold. Eight bands are from county seats in surrounding counties Jefferson counties Hebron Geneva Wilber Beatrice and Fairbury Nebraska Belleville Washington and Marysville Kansas. Two nearby bands Diller and Plymouth also participate. Each band performs in concert in the afternoon with a 150 voice chorus joining the massed program in the evening.
