Diller reminiscence and local events forty years past
Forty years ago a town without a band was likened to a church without an organ as Diller had a band and planned to play at the picnic on August 12. The note recalls Townemaker leaving for Blue Hill on a two week visit with Chas Packer and family and mentions Miss Jennie Hoover drowning in Omaha. Races featured Sam Thompson and Art Pitts with ponies, and other small wagers among locals.
