Beatrice Express reports H S Tonnemaker of seven miles south and one mile west of Beatrice lost a cow in a peculiar accident. A steel yoke with hooks, used to trap cows at the fence, caused one cow to impale another when the animals tangled heads. The dragged cow died after a five hundred yard pull. Value set at about 50 dollars. Other notes include a horse for sale and local farm ads.
Mr O H Weaver came Monday from Montana and will spend part of the summer at the home of his daughter Mrs RB F Blythe. Mrs Johnson who cooked at the Colman for several months resigned and returned Monday to her home at Wymore with her little girl who lived here.

Edith Ramanda Fry of Stephenson County Illinois born October 2 1867 moved with family to Nebraska and Beatrice before settling in Diller She died July 9 1910 aged 40 years 9 months and 7 days Funeral services were held Saturday at the Presbyterian church conducted by Rev L D Bosserman interment at Prairie Home Cemetery Her father Isaac Fry and a sister and brother predeceased her leaving a mourning mother five brothers and many friends The deceased was active in church and charitable works and believed Christ died for all
