Tornado Nearly Destroys Pukwana South Dakota

A late Saturday night tornado devastated Pukwana Brule county about 50 miles west of Mitchell South Dakota along the Chicago Milwaukee and St. Paul road. Fifteen businesses and homes were demolished many farm buildings wrecked two elevators blown down and the railway station wrecked. The ranch of Carpenter Sanberg adjoining the town saw all buildings but two leveled with losses exceeding 100000. A following hail storm ruined crops and covered a three mile wide path.
