Doctor Mark Davis Celebrates 94th Birthday
Dr. Mark Davis of 207 South Seventh Street, long ill for five months, marks his ninety fourth birthday today with friends. A physician who began practice in Beat Rice in 1880 has lived here most of his life aside from five years in Diller, and his many friends wish him many more birthdays.

Almost a Cyclone Hits Diller Area with Sharp Destruction
A wind storm near Diller last Saturday night caused extensive damage across farms and outbuildings. J H Kuper suffered a porch and chimney loss, uprooted and broken trees, and windmill and granary damage. Other sites including Barton's, DeVries, Bensen, Wiemer saw windmills blown down. Mrs A Friday’s barn near Diller was unroofed and damaged, with losses around $2,000. Lightning struck a colt near Sollenberger and a cow near Wells. The storm followed heavy rain and several families sheltered in cellars. The county planned rebuilding Indian Creek bridge north of George Place’s residence.
