Lester Strawhacker under the weather with a bad cold earlier this week. Ed Eby and Or Mayborn visited from Lincoln. C L Tristman family visited Humboldt relatives. Joan Pule sustained eye injury from steel fragment. Dr Diehl removed it. Bertha Wenz returned to Grand Island after Christmas vacation with her parents.

Kensington club holds eight at Wolken home

Mrs W F Wolken entertained the B B Kensington Dee list with eight members. The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs Claude Woods. Mrs Geo Banahan and Mrs F E Wolken will be receiv es for roll call.

J N C Members Meet For New Year Reflections

Mrs. Joe Hiatt hosted the J N C on January 2 with eleven members four visitors and eight children present. Visitors included Miss Adelia Hays Miss Margaret Upson Mrs Jennie Upson and Mrs Robert Upson. After a friendly afternoon of visiting and fancy work a business meeting followed. Refreshments were served. The next meeting will be January 15 with Mrs Frank Grell.

Some Diller residents bring in a few rabbits Wednesday. Mrs. Isaac Saylor recovers from flu. Lewis and William Nies of Ellis neighborhood listed as improving. George Place nurses a badly inflamed eye. Jas Swain buys land from E. R. Henrichs in Gage county at 125 per acre. Mrs. Warman returns from Hollenberg Kansas after nursing Mrs. G. H Schonneberg and infant son.

Miss Adelia Hays Returns To Lincoln After Holidays

Miss Adelia Hays returned Sunday to Lincoln where she teaches in the city schools after spending the holidays at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Chas Hays.

Myers couple returns home and to Falls City

W F and Grayce Myers arrived Tuesday afternoon. He goes home to Havelock where he works in Burlington shops and she returns to Falls City to teach in the city schools.

Funeral Guests of Mrs. Clara Meyers Attend Service

Among out of town friends from Fairbury who attended Mrs. Clara Meyers funeral were Mr and Mrs D Fanders Mrs Fred Stafford and daughter Mrs Ett McClay Miss Bert Ballard Mrs Bernice Creekmar and Mr and Mrs E S Diller. Bills printed for Geo Henricus farm sale set for Wednesday January 22 at 10 o clock. The 22 head Holstein cattle 38 Hampshire hogs and a 280 acre farm will be auctioned the same day. Lunch by ME Aid Society Col Bert Etchison to conduct sale. Further details in next week Record.

Mass Road Meeting Call in Jefferson County Nebraska

The Farmers Union of Jefferson County calls a mass meeting at Odd Fellows hall in Fairbury on Tuesday January 21 at 1 o clock. The purpose is to exchange ideas on road building and maintenance plans for the future with cooperation as the keynote. All residents are invited to attend and contribute constructive suggestions.

Diller and Vicinity Deaths and Local Visits Record

In 1929 eleven girls and nineteen boys began life journeys in Diller area. 1928 saw thirty seven deaths, averaging 34 over five years. In 1996 four females and several males died. 1928 had 23 deaths, five-year average unknown. Local registrar M Callander and Miss Marguerite Veite hosted at Chester Nebr. Miss Juliet Atwood, former Diller teacher, visited with Mr Atwood and daughter. MingeVelte returned home Sunday.
