German congregation closes divine services at 10 30. Annual meeting to be held Sunday January. Members urged to attend as translation of constitution will be presented for adoption.
Sunday School at 9 30 German service at 10 30. Jan 5 at 2 pm all annual members to be present. Jan 7 at 2 pm Woman's Missionary Society meeting. Kensington class monthly meeting with Mrs Cal Waggoner on Fri Jan 2. Economics class discussed cake mixing. Rolan Rasp spoke to American History class. semester exams next Wed and Thurs.
Congregational Church led by Pastor W. E. Ladwick and Superintendent W. A. Snyder hosted an all ages Christmas program filled with spirit. Mrs E Anderson received praise for coordinating the event and the Seeker room was crowded with 75 in the annex. 220 treats were served and a social hour followed. Missions collection noted. Officers of last year.
Rev S A Draise leads the Methodist Episcopal Church with Mrs L M Cavett supervising Sunday School at 10. Preaching at 11. The pastor urges members to set personal church goals for the new year and to win at least ten outsiders to join. Emphasis on service and welcoming all as a path to happiness.
The room reports 100 percent attendance after Christmas with students traveling to Blue Rapids Kansas and Washington Kansas. Students complete snowman themed spelling booklets and study Stevenson reads while preparing perfect spelling and dictation. Middle and high school notes detail perfect spelling week results, Latin and Asian studies, verbs focus, wood projects, and algebra quadratics as disruptions in the text.
The Capitol levy continues for another year to finish the building with expenses about 10.07 million dollars to date. Judge Paine resignations open a possible appointment. bank robberies yield convictions. talks on licensing real estate and truck taxes. highway funds and drought season prep. legislative perks and state engineer debate. farm wheat acreage down. Christmas packages inspected at the penitentiary amid smuggling concerns.
