Dr Viers recovering from a recent illness. Mrs Lawrence Caldwell among those sick this week. Gretchen Fanders injured her left hand badly last Saturday.
Kansas border farmers sow oats and Farmers Elevator Co sends a mixed stock load to St. Joe market Tuesday. J. H. Emerson moved his family into the Miss Randall residence in the town’s west part as winter nears its end.
A stray worded notice reports that many hopping creatures arrived during teat week and have since spread across the lawns. Residents note several are active at daytime and some rest near garden edges.
Mr and Mrs S C Moser hosted Sunday dinner guests including Mr and Mrs Willis Clark and Petty Mr and Mrs H Z Diller of Lincoln and Mr and Mrs Ray Eick The Boy Scouts sponsor a Father and Son banquet tonight in the basement of the Methodist church with mothers of the scouts providing the banquet
Joe Novotny of four miles east of Diller shipped a car load of fine white faced cattle from the station to St Joseph and accompanied them to market on Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. H. Z. Diller and Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Reinhart, all of Lincoln, were over Sunday guests of Diller relatives and friends. They were all former residents of Diller.

The Book Club Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hays hosted a February 1 gathering with refreshments as Rudolph Hubka won the high prize and Mr. R. Hubka won the low prize. Invited guests included Mr. and Mrs. LePoidevin and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Hubka, and Jake Kreuzberg.
At a Fairbury meeting, county commissioners named Foster Helvey sheriff to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Sheriff J. H. Woodell. Helvey, previously deputy under Woodell, was among several applicants.
The market lists wheat No. 1 at 56 cents, corn 42 cents, corn mix 40 cents, oats 30 cents, cream 28 cents, eggs 12 cents, heavy hens 4 cents, and roosters 8 cents per unit. Prices reflect local trading in the Berpute district.
