Wm. Behrends has been on the sick list this week. Sheriff Foster Helvey appointed C. B. Clark as his deputy. A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Ball (Vera Green), March 2. Lloyd Hughes of Omaha visited his mother Mrs. S. M. Hughes. Fred Sasse moved from Albers farm to Woods farm. The fish are biting. an 18 lb catfish was caught in the Blue river near Barneston Monday. Foreigners say Americans think only of the dollar, but they say that is not true for amounts under ten dollars.

John Clauson Buys Azendorf Lots in Block 7 on Main Street
John Clauson purchases Azendorf lots Nos 15 and 16 in block 7 adjoining his pump and windmill shop on Main Street for 100 dollars. The building had been removed. The Commercial Club will call a mass meeting of all voters in School District No. 70 to discuss the upcoming building program. Watch for notices next week.

Scout Troop banquet funds aid equipment and circus invite
The troop held a banquet raising about $10 for scouts equipment. Bobbie Green and Harold Henrichs were elected as members after passing T tests. They plan a one mile pace test and hope to attend the Lincoln scout circus on April 18. Robbie Green, on his 12th birthday, treated the boys to candy bars. Robert Andrews, Scribe.

Ada daughter of G G Wagner of Fairbury and educator with degrees from Peru State and Lebanon High School. Geer, son of the late Mrs M E Geer, has led Diller’s Cornbelt Lumber Co. for fourteen years. They will reside in Diller with many friends.

New Sheriff Foster Helvey with Distant Helvey Legacy
Foster Helvey becomes sheriff continuing a family run of county offices. His grandfather Thos Helvey was the first sheriff and Jasper Helvey the first county clerk. Foster served 24 years in the Navy after enlisting in 1917.
