Myron Patton purchased Jake Lottman’s dray business and attended a meeting Monday. Lottman intends to pursue railroading and visited Wymore to finalize Will Kunter’s return from St Louis. Goode and his brother Henry show interest in a large store project at Central City Colorado, stopping there Monday to visit relatives near Shea and Diller.
Madame Jarey and her wax works join Father Time and his happy family for a Feb 23 program at 7:30 p.m. Admission 25c, children under 12 10c. Proceeds by No. 2 Sunday School for church repairs, with chief and orchestra directing.
The many friends of Capt. Andrews learn of his great affliction nearly total loss of vision. He is visiting a daughter in Boston Massachusetts and is under care of an oculist who offers some hope of restoring his sight. Andrews was a soldier in the service.
The steady rain began Monday forenoon and continued through the night, improving the ground for upcoming spring field work. It brought needed moisture to prepare fields for planting and chores.
Mrs E Caldwell wife of the Peter Janeen place owner near Jansen suffered serious injuries in a runaway last Sunday while returning from church in Harbive and was not taken home until Tuesday. A social at the Masonic Hall featured a supper with oysters celery cake coffee and peaches. A fine program of instrumental and vocal music addresses recitation and drills was presented by J.D. Fanoore and the group.

Mr and Mrs Guy Caseell who live near Diller and soon move to South Dakota were entertained Wednesday evening by neighbors with a pleasant social gathering and games.
A large group of neighbors and friends gathered Wednesday evening to honor Mr and Mrs J A Price. They were moving from five miles northwest of Piller to a newly purchased farm near Harbine. Refreshments and games filled the night as goodbyes were said and best wishes offered for their new home.
Hartzell hosted a seven o clock dinner Friday February 10 honoring his birthday. Mr. and Mrs. A T Watson Mr. and Mrs. C E Waggoner Mr. and Mrs H Z Diller and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur E Price attended. The table decor featured red carnations with a carnation at each plate. After dinner games provided amusement including lively pounding of the host.
Farmers are cutting shallie and doing other odd jobs to be ready for farming as soon as the season permits. Mr and Mrs Winters and children and Chas Chittenden of Clatonia vicinity visited the farmer's sister Mrs W A Cherry, traveling by auto.

Chipperfield’s son met with a Wednesday accident near Diller when a horse fell, breaking a leg below the knee. a doctor treated the fracture by telephone and he is recovering.
Fire sparked by locomotive No. 65 in a stubble field near Geo Place’s farm endangered the Wright brothers’ buildings on their farm just north east of town. A strong wind spread flames across alfalfa. neighbors quickly contained the blaze before it reached the outbuildings.
Evidences of spring show green lawns and a rush of machinery into the area as implement dealers ship gear by the car load. Farmers near Diller plow this week while thundering rain drenches the region and ducks grow plentiful as nim rods are bagged daily. A bouquet of pansies was picked from the editor’s garden last Sunday. Eeg. D. R. Kelley and Thos. Copeland talked politics in front of Kerr’s restaurant Tuesday.
The Methodist church sets its next quarterly meeting for the third Saturday and Sunday in March with preaching and communion weather permitting. Cantata for repairs to be held at the M E church Thursday evening. Sunday school at 11, Epworth League six thirty, preaching seven thirty. A district deaconess will visit leagues starting April first to inspire and plan.
