Surprise party for Mr and Mrs J A Price before move

A large group of neighbors and friends gathered Wednesday evening to honor Mr and Mrs J A Price. They were moving from five miles northwest of Piller to a newly purchased farm near Harbine. Refreshments and games filled the night as goodbyes were said and best wishes offered for their new home.

Hartzell hosted a seven o clock dinner Friday February 10 honoring his birthday. Mr. and Mrs. A T Watson Mr. and Mrs. C E Waggoner Mr. and Mrs H Z Diller and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur E Price attended. The table decor featured red carnations with a carnation at each plate. After dinner games provided amusement including lively pounding of the host.

Fire sparked by locomotive No. 65 in a stubble field near Geo Place’s farm endangered the Wright brothers’ buildings on their farm just north east of town. A strong wind spread flames across alfalfa. neighbors quickly contained the blaze before it reached the outbuildings.

Methodist Church Rock Creek News Brief

The Methodist church sets its next quarterly meeting for the third Saturday and Sunday in March with preaching and communion weather permitting. Cantata for repairs to be held at the M E church Thursday evening. Sunday school at 11, Epworth League six thirty, preaching seven thirty. A district deaconess will visit leagues starting April first to inspire and plan.
