Dillers and Lines Attend Wells Fargo at Bonham

Several Diller relatives and cousins of the famous Wells Fargo express family enjoyed this week’s Bonham production. Mrs Jennifer Line hosted a theatre party Tuesday afternoon with Miss Fannie Diller, Mr and Mrs Willis Clark, and Mrs Clarence Line Steffen. Miss Fannie noted her enjoyment of the play.

John Pulee Moves His Address to Swanton Nebraska

The office received a card noting John Pulee’s change of address from Fullerton to Swanton Nebraska. The move brings him about a hundred miles nearer Diller and only seven miles from his old home town. John bought the Swanton blacksmith shop where he learned the trade as the former owner retires. Lester Strawhacker runs the Barnsdell service and bulk station at Fullerton.

Surveyors Map Diller to 35 Road Connection Plan

State road department surveyors have worked a week mapping the road from Diller to 35 miles south, 44 miles south of town. When finished the stretch will connect Diller to all weather roads from four compass points.

Everett Clark his son Buddy and their mother Mrs Mattie Clark with Aunt Christie Seaman visited Fairbury Monday afternoon to watch Wells Fargo at the Bonham a film about establishing the first coach and pony express and mail service. The marriage of Nona Ruth Thompson and Henry Madden Diller took place in Castle Rock Colorado on January 20 1938. Miss Thompson has visited Diller twenty times. Diller is the son of J Smith Diller and nephew of Fannie Diller of Diller. The couple will reside in Denver.

They Like Good Music at Lincoln Visit

Mr and Mrs R W Green spent Sunday with Lincoln relatives and attended a 5 30 Vesper service at the Cornhusker Hotel ballroom. A Capella choir and stringed ensemble provided excellent music and the service left the Greens hoping their Diller friends could have enjoyed the hour.

Beatrice Man Mr C M Linn Dies at 65

Mr Linn 65 a Beatrice resident died unexpectedly at his apartments in Beatrice Tuesday. He formerly worked in banking at Humboldt and since 1929 ran an automobile business with his son in Beatrice. He held the Oldsmobile agency for Mrs Cavett who bought her last car in July 1936.

Woodpile mistaken for mountain near St Paul church

A local home noticed a hilllike shape near the St Paul church that turned out to be a large stack of wood hauled by the constituency for fuel. The view from the house showed bifocals magnifying the illusion.

Freeman enters governor race from Jefferson County

Sam Freeman, a 70 year old candidate formerly living northeast of Diller, filed in Fairbury last week. He resides near Reynolds and is called the son of the First Homesteader. He pledges to repeal many rattle headed laws that raise taxes. Jefferson County has never had a governor.
