Geraldine Fasnacht Fletcher and Gerald C. Blauser wed Tuesday February 1 1938 at the Presbyterian church in Beat rice with Rev McCowan officiating. The couple will reside in the bride’s home at Diller as family and friends celebrated with an old fashioned charivari.

John Drake Improves While Traveling Homeward

John Drake brother of Mrs Viers was last reported ill in Texas last week after traveling in a house car for his health. It was expected someone would chase after him, but he has improved and is heading toward Diller, driving as he feels.

First Nebraska Bank Failure Since 1934 Shuts Doors

The Farmer's Security Bank at Maywood, Nebraska closed Tuesday becoming the first state bank failure in the state since 1934. Bad notes caused the collapse. It held about 200000 in deposits for 473 depositors with 20000 capital stock and 5000 surplus. Only 300 of deposits were uninsured beyond the 5000 limit.

Dist 64 School Notes Highlights January Attendance

The month of January saw no absences or tardies for Duane Wolken Harold Jones Eildon Fanders Evelyn Hudson Junior Hudson Lucille Fasse and Verneal Fasse with the first five maintaining perfect attendance since term start. The Cheerful Workers of Dist 64 elected Milton Thomas as president and Evelyn Hudson as secretary with Miss Barta as vice president Harold Jones as cheer leader and Verneal Fasse as song leader. A matuer hour led the latest K Y program while sixth to eighth graders learned making stuches for swing unit in Vitalized Agriculture.
