Sunday school at 10 o'clock led by W H Plager superintendent announced for St Pauls Evangelical Lutheran near Diller with church items listed.
Congregational Church led by Rev. Robert A Helms offers Sunday School at 10, preaching at 11, and a Sunday evening program at 7 30. The WOC T will conduct a silver medal matron's contest with seven participants, plus music by the Diller Womans Club, and a free will offering.
Mra L. M Cavett reports Sunday School at 10 A M and a well rendered play by Odell young people Sunday evening. Attendance was not large due to illness. Epworth League gathering planned for the Fairbury Methodist church Friday and Saturday with a 6:30 banquet Saturday. Registration plus banquet 75 cents, banquet ticket only 40 cents.

Mrs Sophia Mathias and granddaughter Pearl Fasnacht visit Roy Mathias at Ellis.
Mrs. Ethel James of Hastings, a former chair operator at Diller Telephone Co., has been visiting here this week with her sister Mrs. John Pulee and other relatives and friends.
Beatrice resident Ray Cilkins who owns the John Miller farm north west of Diller placed an ad in the Record on Wednesday seeking an axle to be available next Monday. Details appear in the advertisement.
Mrs Christie Seaman entertained with dinner Saturday inviting Mr and Mrs Fred Starr Mrs John Starr of Talulah La Mrs Lydia Stucker of Kansas City and Miss Pearl Thompson A pleasant visit was shared during the afternoon.
Mrs Janssen aged 82 died last Friday of pneumonia at her son Will Janssen’s home three miles north of Harbine. She was buried Sunday from the German Lutheran church eight miles north of Dil Jer with interment in the church yard cemetery.
On Saturday evening February 4 1983 Mrs Roy Mathias was surprised by 34 neighbors and friends. The gathering included rock music and later refreshments before everyone departed after extending birthday wishes.
The Keystone Kensington class met at Mrs. T. F. Roehrkasse's home to elect new officers for the year: president Mrs. Clarence Steffen. vice president Mrs Bert Bell. secretary Mrs Howard Peters. treasurer Mrs Clifford Sparks. reporter Mrs R. W. Green. They planned the Sopeneus sale for Feb 18 at Green's Cafe and enjoyed a luncheon hosted by Mesdames Hod Green Sparks and Peters. The March Kensington will be at Mrs. H. A. Bell's home for a church ladies gathering.
Neal Andrews, the second member of the I. R. Andrews family, contracted diphtheria. Prompt antitoxin treatment quickly controlled the illness.
Clarence Eaton traveled from Chicago to visit his relatives including half brother L. M. Cavett and others then left Saturday for a longer stay with his brother Al in Grand Island before heading back to Chicago.
The Collier Comedians were forced to cancel this Wednesday night performance of The Crimson Hand due to inclement weather. They plan to present the play next Wednesday night and urge merchants to note that a ticket saves 25 cents.
Mr and Mrs A R Milow and family attended a Tecumseh reunion at the home of Mrs Logsdon's parents Mr and Mrs Wm Logsdon. The gathering celebrated the couple's 49th wedding anniversary. They are both 74. Billy Bond managed the drug store during their absence.
A message to Mrs. Isabel Vieths Tuesday morning announced the death of her sister Mrs. A B Curtis of Rock Island Illinois. Elizabeth A Fouts has been in Rock Island since September helping in the care of Mrs. Curtis. Mrs. Curtis has visited frequently in Diller with her sisters and other relatives.
Mrs Theatje Partlow widow of D S Partlow longtime resident of the Dilier and Steele City vicinities died Wednesday in a York hospital after a brief illness. She is survived by two daughters Ida of York and Mrs S W Lytle of Benedict and a son S B Partlow of York. The Partlows moved to York twenty six years ago.
In Odell Roy Wilson parked a wood saw rig on a side street near the Callan garage. The W M P drained the crankcase and replaced the oil with water and sand. The result was a burned out motor bearing in the engine.
The Cheerful Workers club and guests gathered February 1 at Mrs. Roy Mathias home to celebrate her birthday. Attendees enjoyed a potluck meal, afternoon tea towel sewing, and musical entertainment by Mrs. Zola Leonard and party members. Gifts and roses filled the house as guests arrived from Beatrice and nearby towns.
Petitions urging the Nebraska Legislature to amend the state constitution and repeal the dry law are being circulated in Gage and Pawnee counties and are planned for distribution in additional counties.

Prizes were awarded to Mrs Joe Hiatt Mrs Frank Robertson Mrs Geo Champ and Mrs M C Bowen. Guests included Mrs Susan Brandt Mrs Lawrence Madden and daughter Thella. Next meeting will be with Mrs Chas Kune.
Hugh Duan a longtime section foreman at Elicott who later lived near Diller died recently at his son’s home in Sacramento California. The family moved away about ten years ago. He is survived by his wife two sons John and Frank and a daughter Agnes.
