Robert A Helms presides with 11 a m services and 7 30 p m musical program led by Fiossie Raymond Row Green hosts Keystone Kensington March 3rd with all ladies invited Mrs Bell to entertain in April Missionary meetings moved to February 24 led by Mrs Christie Seaman and Mrs W E Anderson Open to all church ladies to support missionary work.

Dr. Or Diehl attended his brother in law Mr. and Mrs. A A Rhodes near Beatrice for their 25th wedding anniversary last Sunday. Relatives and friends gathered for a noon dinner. He returned from Beatrice with his daughter Mrs W C Steffensmeyer of Lincoln who is visiting this week.
Earl Zook of Beatrice, formerly of Diller, met old friends there on Tuesday. A woman named Jane Wolf was killed in a drive near Alexandria a few days ago. A flag proudly flew over the Diller post office all day Sunday in commemoration of Lincoln birthday.
Scarlet fever is reported at the home of Mr and Mrs Bert Means where their son in law and daughter Mr and Mrs Bruce Highly and a baby are afflicted with the illness.
Molly Hiatt Anna Weens Gerd Henrichs George and Al fred Wiemers and Lester Bard spent Sunday evening at the home of Wm. Gritz where they practiced a play to be presented soon.
Mrs Harriet Barton and many couples attended a Sunday dinner at Mr. and Mrs. Bert Bell's home. A fine dinner featured ice cream and two kinds of cake. R W Green and W G Tinstman joined Nebraska telephone directors in Lincoln for a meeting and banquet.
Monday’s sale on the former John Miller farm northwest of Diller drew a fair crowd. Ray Calkins reported good prices for the era with horses and mules around 100 dollars per head, milk cows about 25 dollars, and sows around 12 dollars. Calkins has rented the farm to Robert Hawes of DeWitt who will move in soon.
A Jefferson county Board of Conciliation has been named to address mortgage indebtedness per Governor Bryan's recommendation. The board, selected by the state board from recommended names, will meet at the courthouse at 1 30 PM on Saturday February 18 1933 to organize. Members are Fred Hummel William Traum L C Craig Roy McCord of Fairbury and Emil Stark of Gladstone.
President elect Roosevelt faced an assassination attempt in Miami during a reception honoring his return from a cruise. Five shots were fired. Chicago Mayor Anton Cermak was struck, near the president elect. The would be killer, Joe Zingara, was captured and allegedly said he would kill all presidents and officers.
Mr and Mrs Gien Blauser announce the birth of a son on Thursday February 16 1933 weighing in at a pound. The new arrival joins the family as a cherished addition.
Mr and Mrs Francis Clark and their children dined Sunday with her parents Mr and Mrs Emil Tarnow in Steele City.
Mr and Mrs Clarence Hiatt and family spent the weekend in Beatrice at Mrs C Hiatt home. They gave a dancing party in honor of Donna Hiatt turning 16.
Mr and Mrs Harry Thompson celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary Saturday with a chicken dinner hosted by his mother Mrs Christie Seaman.
Mrs. R W Green and Norma Frances joined Mr and Mrs Rex A Green in Lincoln to spend time with relatives including Mrs Sarah Witty and sister Mrs Coleman. Ival Carpenter visited his grandmother from Edgar while Mrs Eldred Carpenter recovers from an appendectomy in Hastings. A local tailor promotes spring suits at $19.50 and $23.50 with confidence in durability and value.
Mesdames Roy Geer and Frank Eick hosted the Diller club on February 8 with Mrs. Cloyd Daly presiding. Mrs. W E Anderson led singing, Miss Mildred Mayborn played piano, and members shared hobby lists from dishwashing to hooked rugs, followed by a talk on hooked rugs by C N Callander with samples shown.
Mrs O J Mayborn gave a splendid quilt talk and several quilts were displayed. Mrs Scott Miller spoke on child training and Mrs Theodore Henrichs discussed rock gardening. Candy making by Mrs Nippert impressed the group as did Hilda Thompson singing and Ed Henrichs at the piano. Refreshments followed as the Vale rite was observed. Upcoming open meeting at the national church on February 26 at 7 30 p m with Lucille Taylor of Steele City in a Horizon three act play. Mrs Paul Renz and daughter Phyliss visited relatives. Bernard Armstrong’s birthday celebrated with ice cream and cake. Mrs James Hays hosted two bridge tables for her husband’s birthday with prizes and a plan to meet again February 17.
