Local notes update from the Diller area and surroundings
Thunder and lightning accompany rain Monday night. Charley Hood returns from visit to T. M. Hood in McPaul Indiana. J. H. Sagthoff unloaded a farm implement car last Saturday. Henry Frerichs is ill at the home of Jake Lottman. Farmers shipping association sent three hog-cars to St. Joe market Tuesday. R. F. Starr moved into Mrs. Musser’s home across from the Presbyterian church. Diller Grain Co. received two cars of Colorado lump coal. Miss Lois McLaughlin moved from Harbine to occupy her mother’s property vacated by Starr. Mrs Geo Schoneberg ill at 34 miles north and 3½ east of Diller. Jack Armstrong shipped hogs and cattle to Kansas City. Reformed church east of Harbine receives two coats of paint. work by Rolf Beckman. Ray Eick and Glen Blauser visited Shenandoah broadcasting stations. Ladies of the M. E. church to serve dinner for Henrichs Bro’s hog sale. B. B. Kensington met with Mrs. Sam Kurtz Jan. 24. Next meeting with Mrs. C. Renz a social honoring Mrs. Luther Marstellar. bring sandwiches, covered dish, and valentine with verse.

Valentine suggestions were used, a red and white color scheme was carried out and Valentine games were played.

Lanham Visit for Ill Mother and Injury Update
Mr Herman Peters was called to Lanham Saturday for his ill mother who is much better now. Glenn Long, with a broken leg from a horse accident, is using crutches and aims to be up and around soon. W S Filley Burlington agent at this stage returned home Wednesday from Lake Chicano after a hernia operation and is in good shape.

Obituary of Mrs A T Nelson Emily Berg born 1869
Emily A Berg Nelson died January 31 1928 near Ellis Nebraska at age 58. She was born in Jersey Illinois to A R and Anna Berg Swedish migrants and married A T Nelson in Dallas Texas October 20 1888. Survived by four sons two grandsons three sisters and three brothers along with many relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at Ellis Church with pastors J H Bankser T C Priestly and R E Martin. Burial followed in Ellis Cemetery.
