A rural report notes Harm Diekman suffers an infection in his left hand. The text also mentions the birth of a 74b daughter to Mr and Mrs John M P ties with Esther Deuchler, living miles west of Diller, on Jan oxth.
Mr and Mrs Willis Clark and Petty and Mr and Mrs S J Thompson with Mary Lou and Robert spent Sunday with relatives in Lingala.
Waggoner Bros undertakers conduct the funeral of 84 year old Mrs Kostel in Odell. Services are from the Catholic Church with interment in the Catholic cemetery.
Mrs Nelson aged 59 wife of A T Nelson residing five miles north and two east of Diller died suddenly Tuesday evening at 6:30 from apoplexy. She will be buried Saturday in Ellis cemetery with services at Ellis church.
An Omaha hospital performed hernia surgery on a patient Tuesday. An 8 lb girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Francis Wallace at their home 4 miles south and 1 west of Diller on Tuesday January 31.
Mr and Mrs Joe Nippert and their Hadley Minnesota family spent Saturday night with relatives in Arkansas. They stayed with Uncle and Aunt Mr and Mrs Arthur Grone and cousins Mr and Mrs G L Richardson and Mr and Mrs Frank Grone during the move.
Catalogues and bills are out for Henrichs Bro a bred Hampshire hog sale to be held in Diller Saturday February 11. The Henrichs furnish the sires of champion carloads of Hampshire hogs shown at the American Royal Stock Show Kansas City and the National Western Stock Show Denver. Both lots were exhibited by the Classens of Beatrice who have returned with more sires.
The mock trial drew a goodly crowd at the Woodman Lodge camp meeting. Neighbor Hutchinson presided with a judgely countenance while Neighbor Waggoner led the prosecution, his nerves fluttering but still a credit to his profession. The defense counsel’s performance is noted as better left unsaid. Jury chosen and the fireworks are planned for February 9.

Mr and Mrs Fred Swohn and family of Clatonia and Mr and Mrs John Packer and family of Pickrell spent Sunday with Mrs Vieths and her husband, the former sister of the Packers.
Mr and Mrs E L Loock and daughter Charlotte visited Fairbury last Friday afternoon when the Henrichs residence caught fire. Firefighters were on site before the occupants realized the blaze. Most damage came from water soaking as household goods were ruined. the family moved into a nearby house.

Mrs. Sarah Witty visited with all her children at her daughter Mrs. R. W. Green’s home. The tenth member joined the family circle in Diller and Viietns, with relatives including Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. Witty and Dean, Mr. and Mrs. R. Dashone, and Norma Frances.
