Porker Bites Off E Weigel's Thumb at Slaughter

Earl Weigel suffered a severe thumb injury during hog butchering last Tuesday. The hog bit down during the sticking operation, severing the thumb including bone except for a shred of flesh. A doctor reattached the thumb and gave tetanus preventive. patient remains improving as expected.

Endicott Hosts County Teachers Meeting

The Diller faculty attended the county teachers meeting in Endicott on Wednesday December 21. Dinner was served at 6 30 followed by a business meeting and a discussion on Teacher Retirement led by Supt. Clark of Steele City and Supt. Sinkey of Diller. A social time followed.

Perley Place Sues to Split From Diller Village

The Perley Place filed suit in district court this week to detach land from the Village of Diller. Nearby residents debate similar action citing high taxes as the motive.

Mrs Fouts Heads to Kansas City for Christmas Visit

Mrs Elizabeth Fouts travels from Burlington to Kansas City to visit her niece and husband Mr and Mrs J Bowes. They will take her to Rock Island Illinois to spend the Christmas season with her brother Christ Madden's family. She plans to return to Diller before an extended visit with her children.

N. B. Club Meets at Eden Home for Holiday Gathering
