Wendell Fanders and his friend Erwin Shutt of Grand Island Nebraska flew from Hastings in a chartered plane to Guide Rock for dinner. Wendell has been taking flying lessons from Miss Evelyn Sharp of Ord Nebraska and has recently been flying solo.

Mrs. Fouts received word Tuesday forenoon of the death of her brother Frank Madden at his Meridian Idaho home. He died Tuesday morning at eighty four years old. He was the oldest of his siblings and cancer was the immediate cause. Frank Madden was a resident of this area in his youth.

Henry Wiemers of Diller reported to a national audience via NBC from Chicago during the National Live Stock Show.
