Colman Family Returns From Wisconsin and Michigan Trips
Mr and Mrs A H Colman returned Sundry from visiting her brother Leslie Obsorn and family at Racine and stayed weeks at Wisconsin and Michigan summer resorts. Mr and Mrs Al Cavett and two children of Grand Island began their return trip home in their car. L M Cavett and family joined to Lincoln and visited Cavett’s mother Mrs Eaton and did some shopping.

Shutt Family Car Trip After Friday Return
H. K. Shutt drove his car to St. Edwards last week after his wife and babies returned. They were accompanied home by Mrs. Brittel and the wife’s sister, who will visit for a while. Mrs Elma Limprecht and her son Dwain left with her mother Mrs Nancy Clark and relatives to join her husband in Bisbee Arizona. Prof D C Domer and daughter Mildred returned from Lincoln where Domer taught classes and Mildred clerical work at the Free Press office. Mr and Mrs J W Fouts and Mrs E E Hill came back from Boulder Colorado after several hot weeks. Fouts has nearly recovered from a sunstroke suffered in the field earlier.

York Adopts Earlier School Time Start
A petition signed by nearly all city businessmen urged York to begin the school year September 8 instead of October 26. The council adopted the change believing it would benefit school children farmers and local business. The adjustment does not affect railroad post office or telegraph times.

Obituary Mary Ann Davis of Nodaway County
Mary Ann Davis born near Skidmore Missouri June 19 1844 died August 26 1919 aged 75 years 2 months 7 days. She married Louis Saffell in 1858 and had ten children four of whom survive across Nebraska Kansas and Oklahoma. The family moved to Nebraska in 1881 and settled north east of Diller in Gage county later residing on the Boggs place. Her parents were devoted Methodist Christians.

Woman Passes After Long Illness Following Husbands Death
The obituary notes a long life of honesty and integrity. Since Mr. Saffell’s death in 1910 she lived largely alone and remained active, but health declined in February. She died after seven weeks of bed confinement and days of intense suffering, leaving one son five daughters twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Funeral held Thursday at her home with Rev H W Wagner officiating and burial beside her husband in Prairie Home cemetery.
