A large barn about a half mile south of Ellis was struck by lightning Tuesday evening, igniting the structure and its contents. The blaze destroyed several tons of hay and a substantial amount of oats, with an estimated loss of 2500 dollars, partly insured.

A Sunday dawn blaze in Plymouth wiped out the restaurant run by Mrs. M. Pins the new theatre and an unused frame building. The loss runs about 3000 dollars with some insurance on the buildings, all of which were old structures.

Church Services Resume After Absence and Plans

Regular church services resumed last Sunday after a two week gap with fair attendance in morning and evening. The pastor will preach in Rock Creek next Sunday morning while the evening service remains in town. A Sunday school organized in the pastor’s absence. Musicians practice this week for next Sunday school. Conference year ends in three weeks with reports and planning for the next term. The first annual payment to the pastor is due by September 1.
