Former Diller girls now in Los Angeles meet Grace Bell Gemeny at Grace Bell Gemeny home for the Diller Picnic. Ten reminisce on past Diller days and friendships formed. The group includes Grace Bell Gemeny Maude Bell Hult Ola Powell Rouen Effie Powell Hafer and others with hopes this becomes an annual gathering. Supt Friz Ze and Mrs L Calkins attended a two day lunch supervisor conference in Lincoln. Erwin Roelfe and daughter of Lincoln visited Diller. Rev Rudolph Moehring accepted a church call at Wakeeney Kansas after eight years in Hastings. True Thompson Vivian and a friend visited Mrs Christie Seaman and attended the Picnic.

Guardsman Returns From Camp Funston After Two Week Drill
Lincoln National Guard member Sgt. Lamb arrives home from Camp Funston with the 34th Red Bull Division following an intensive two week encampment. A 7000 troop review before governors and high ranking officials capped the event. Tanks and armored units were present in the parade.

Fasnacht Families Hold Picnic and Community Events
Diller area residents held a Sunday picnic at City Hall with extended family from Oakland California to Hershey. upcoming events include the 14th annual Fairbury Band Festival at City Park with eight bands and the Cre tonian chorus. County rural teachers prepare for 1948 49 term as 25 rural schools face openings. Diller to open Sept 7 with Sept 3 registration and a new school band.

Luther League Convention Almost Doubles Diller Population
The Luther Leagues of the Midwest Lutheran Synod held a three day convention closed Thursday. Alex Walker of Lincoln was elected president. Lowell Feye Creston and Dorothy Dager Papillion were named officers. Duane Wolken Diller was treasurer. The event drew 69 delegates and 223 visitors, with Duane Wolken, president of the Diller group, delivering welcomes. Weather featured record highs around 100 degrees with no precipitation.
