Miss Fern Cavett returned Monday from visiting friends in Wilber Grand Island and Fairbury. Henry Fouts left Monday for a short visit with his cousin Dr Fouts in Dawson Nebraska and came back Wednesday evening. J H Emerson and Mrs Emerson from Alta arrived to meet relatives and old friends at the fraternal picnic.
Andrews of Steele City joined a committee for county school redistricting. Rev and Mrs Wagner returned from Colorado trip with notes of Denver Boulder Springs Manitou and a renewed vigor for mowing weeds along fences roadsides and streets. Geo Henrichs has been briefly laid up since last Thursday due to an accident with a pitch fork handle that struck him while at play. He visited town Wednesday and is recovering.
Public notice indicates two atalls for school horses for rent under C A Reinhardt. The Ditler Record is cited for safe bills as the season for public gales approaches. Locdon and a boy visited Colorado Springs, while Misses Elizabeth and Margaret Cherry returned from a vacation trip to unnamed points.
Mrs Marie Miller visited Friday with her parents Mr and Mrs Allen Colman and other Diller relatives to attend a family picnic.
Paul Logan came back Tuesday from Sidney Nebraska where he rented a full section of land to plant wheat this fall using a tractor.
Sealed bids for the janitor position of the school property District No. 70 for the coming year will be received until 10 PM Saturday August 30. A. D. Stotts, Secretary.
Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Loock and their daughters Miss Charlotte Loock and Mrs. E. R. Henrichs with children returned Saturday from an auto trip to Peoria Illinois. Mr. Henrichs returned earlier by train. They report a very enjoyable trip.

Beauford Bell arrived back in Diller from France where he served in the motor transfer corps. Merle Seibolts arrived a day earlier. John W. Hayworth of Omaha visited Diller to see his daughter Mrs Olig Babb and relatives. Mrs Hayworth praised Nevis and placed property there as an investment.
The 23rd annual Diller picnic drew a large crowd of old and young residents with DeWitt band music, magic acts, and a Beatrice Deshler ball game ending 7 to 1. Attendees included Mr. and Mrs. Colman and others from Lincoln and Kansas City amid a bustling day of parades, stalls, and community support for local business leaders.
Mr and Mrs Bert Ewers and their children joined many Fairbury residents at a Diller picnic yesterday. They also called on his sister Mrs Isabella Raymund during the outing.
Howard Smith a former superintendent of the Diller schools and his wife stopped in town early Tuesday on their return from Orleans. They visited with friends until the noon train, then returned to their home in ee where Mr. Sith te in 7 EEL.
A village picnic drew many former residents of Diller and nearby communities. Attendees included Al Taylor and wife of Wymore, A Ballard and wife, Supt. and Mrs. Jas Eastwood, and numerous others from Beatrice, Endicott, Harbine, Lincoln, Fairbury, Julian, and Gilead.
Mrs Wright of Powell Wyoming and relatives greeted World War I veteran J B Widgin as he arrived after twenty two months overseas service with the signal corps. He landed at Newport News on July 13 and was discharged July 21 at Camp Dodge. He planned a visit with his sister in Tell and was met by his mother in a joyful homecoming at a local fraternal lodge picnic.
The pastor and wife return from Colorado last Wednesday after two weeks away. Four Sundays of the year remain and subscriptions for ministerial support should be paid promptly. The last quarterly conference, Tuesday evening August 26, will be a joint meeting with Rock Creek. Reports from church departments are due. Regular services next Sunday with Bible school at 10. The pastor plans to preach at 11 and invites all to attend the evening service.
