District S. S. Convention Speaks at Luther an Church
The Lincoln District Sunday School convention of the Lutheran church meets August 25-26 at St Paul’s Lutheran church. All Sunday School and church workers are invited. Mrs Newton Injured in Park Rapids Auto Crash
Mrs William Newton of Omaha formerly Evelyn Stotts of this place suffered a brain concussion in an August 5 automobile crash at Park Rapids Minnesota. She was flown to Miller's Hospital in St Paul for treatment. Her father and sister visited the hospital as she was reported improved.

Hubwart Manning Injured in Highway Accident Near Gilead
Hubert Manning of Steele City and his wife were returning from Colorado when a passing truck struck him near Gilead last Sunday wounding him. He suffered a shattered arm and was hospitalized in Fairbury before transfer to the Veterans Hospital in Lincoln for confinement.

Lincoln brothers visit hometown for photos and hunt
J. S. Satmann of Lincoln and his brother Dr. Louis Satmann of New York City visited their boyhood homes Wednesday. They photographed the area to show contrast between then and now and planned travel east after leaving Lincoln Thursday. They would stop at Vandalia Ohio for the Grand American trap shoot and Louis Lanman, winner of the New York City Gun Club championship, carried a fine watch as an award.
