Picnic travelers return home after West Coast trip
Ira Casper and Harold Fas Nacht arrived home Monday from a West Coast trip. Four young men left here July 13 in an improvised Ford Star car seeking work. In Chadron Merle Johnson headed home. After trouble finding jobs and car trouble they returned home by side door sleeper. Elmer Garrels went to Los Angeles to stay with his Uncle Pete Albers.

New Drivers License Rules Take Effect
The 1937 license renewal period runs Sept 1 to Dec 1 for all drivers. Jefferson County issued 7300 licenses in the 60 day prior period. The new two year license requires surrender of the old or a duplicate at 25 cents. The fee is 75 cents with 5 cents staying with the county treasurer. Renewals may be mailed with the old license and return postage.

Snowy start to week hits Nebraska towns
